Neuropsychological
Assessment
An assessment. An interpretation. A plan.
Neuropsychological assessment uses standardized measures of cognitive and intellectual functioning to better understand brain-behavior relationships. Performance scores can help to establish a baseline for future comparison, clarify the nature of neurodevelopmental vulnerability, and provide insight into any perceived change in functioning attributable to medical- or mental health causes.
Since completing postdoctoral training in neuropsychology through the Harvard Medical School Consortium in Neuropsychology, I have conducted over 1,000 evaluations of adults and adolescents ages 16+. My clinical interests and expertise span a variety of medical- and psychiatric conditions, including:
ADHD
Dementia
Concussion/TBI
Epilepsy
Parkinson’s Disease
Autonomic Disorders
Autoimmune Disorders
Learning Disorders
Sleep Disorders
A comprehensive diagnostic interview is conducted prior to testing. On the testing day itself, you will be asked to complete a series of tasks created and validated to measure specific abilities including: attention, memory functions, language, spatial skills, executive functions and processing speeds. The results of testing are interpreted in comparison to normative groups as well as in the context your provided historical information and noted concerns. The findings are provided to you as part of an in-person feedback and a finalized report with prescriptive recommendations is sent directly to you soon thereafter.
